Reports to: Managing Director, BCA Logistics

Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

Role Information:

BCA Logistics is looking to appoint an Operations Director, with the primary focus of the role to manage the Field and QC quality that underpins the Inspection activity within BCA Logistics.

Commercially astute, you will have a sharp eye for optimisation of costs as well as a track record in customer service and operational delivery.

As Operations Director you will be responsible for driving change and continuous improvement through a strong management team and structure, based on embracing the BCA core values.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Providing continuous improvement within the operation, evolving the existing operating model
• Responsible for ensuring through robust measures that the inspectors are inspecting vehicles accurately against the BVRLA fair wear and tear guide for cars or LCV’s and the most appropriate repair method is selected
• Drive controlled and measured change within the operation, creating the agility and flexibility within the operation to adapt
• Motivating and developing employees to ensure we build strength in depth and an environment for success
• Review the inspection process in accordance with changing market methodologies and propose improvements/efficiencies as appropriate
• Provide ongoing support to internal and external stakeholders in the education of BVRLA fair wear and tear standards and end of contract processes
• Leadership and coaching - performance management and culture, succession planning, safe working practices, resource utilisation and forecasting resourcing levels
• Operational Finance - operational budgets, capital projects, accountability for the achievement of budgets across operations
• Operations - developing process and policies, identify risks and threats, improve planning and processes while ensuring consistency
• Identify where improvements can be made, develop new projects and expansion activities, directing logistic functions and legal and risk compliance
• Analyse the financial impact of proposed changes for BCA Logistics

Skills Required:

• Strong leadership with the ability to drive change
• Exceptional management & communication skills to be able to lead a large team across a diverse logistical arrangement
• Possess drive and enthusiasm to deliver constant continuous improvement
• Highly motivated and proactive, enjoying leading as well as working as a team, whilst also taking full ownership and accountability for delivering results.
• Commercially orientated and have the ability to liaise across all functions and at all levels of the business
