Job Description

Job Purpose

A vacancy has arisen within the Aftermarket Wholesale business for a Regional Manager based at the Heathrow branch. This position will report to the UK Wholesale Operations Manager with a dotted line to the UKW Commercial Manager.

The purpose of the role is to undertake all commercial and operational requirements, for both the branch and region, in order to maximise customer satisfaction and branch performance across a range of disciplines. These are inclusive of, but not restricted to; Health and Safety, Cost to Serve and Employee Development, whilst striving to achieve continued improvement with a Value-Added approach to outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • To be a role model in their attitude towards Health & Safety activities, continuously develop a safe working environment and culture amongst employees in order to deliver the safety standards for the site as set by the Company
  • To identify training requirements for employees to ensure the highest possible standards of Customer Service are maintained. Implementing succession and talent plans and carry out one to one sessions
  • Demonstrate a customer focused attitude whereby the drive to exceed customer expectations is apparent throughout the branch
  • Improve business with current customers and identify new opportunities
  • To identify and lead any site improvement projects agreed to by the business
  • To provide support to other UKW operations as and when required
  • To undertake project work identified and agreed to by the UKW Operations and Commercial Managers
  • To ensure that the sites are run within the costs budget as set by the UKW Operations. Continuously focus on driving cost and operational efficiency in all parts of the branch activities including breakages, stock adjustments, order fulfilment
  • To achieve regional sales budget in terms of revenue, volume, margin and profit
  • To develop the revenue and margin terms of Customers beyond the budgeting period
  • To participate as required in pricing and contract negotiations with Customers
  • Conduct market analysis and anticipate and respond to changes in the market place
  • Manage and resolve all Customer requirements
  • Ensure tight controls are adhered to in regards to the branch aged debt

The Successful Candidate Will Ideally Have

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills will be required to interact in both written and verbal format with employees, managers, suppliers and customers
  • A pro-active, positive and challenging view on service quality with a strong understanding and commitment to the 'Right First Time' principles
  • Strong analytical skills to identify patterns in performance data and the ability to identify/implement corrective actions
  • Strong customer service focus and experience in driving forward change
  • Previous experience of people management would be advantageous
  • Previous automotive or glass industry experience would be also be advantageous
  • Full UK driving licence is required

  • Working hours are 42 hours per week, Monday to Friday with occasional Saturday working
  • Salary - up to £35,000 dependant on experience
  • London Weighting Allowance £2,336
  • 28 days holiday per annum inclusive of public holidays
  • Holiday Purchase Scheme (purchase up to 5 additional days per year)

  • Management Bonus Scheme - pays up to 10% of basic salary, based on business targets and not guaranteed
