Motor Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic

About us

Infield Ltd are a small but fast-growing Independent Land Rover Specialist Garage, covering all aspects of servicing, diagnostics, and advanced vehicle repairs. Working on all models of Land Rover’s from Early Defender up to the latest model Range Rovers.

Qualifications and Experience

  • We are looking for an Experienced Vehicle Technician with intermediate to advanced skills/knowledge. You must be a qualified Vehicle Technician with a formal qualification in Automotive City and Guilds/ NYQ Level 2 or 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance
  • Preferably with a minimum of 5 years workshop experience
  • Full UK Driving License
  • Experience with Land Rovers is preferable but not essential.

About the Role

You will be a member of a small team of technicians in a fast-paced time served environment, that is able to work on own initiative.

  • Diagnostics/Fault Finding
  • Servicing (To Land Rover Service Schedules/Intervals)
  • MOT Repairs
  • Welding and Fabrication
  • Timing Belts Replacements

You will have responsible computer skills and experience using Diagnostics Software such as Opus/Autologic, SDD and Pathfinder

You will have the ability to work within given timescales and be able to work in a demanding and ever-changing environment.

  • You must be Self Motivated and work off of own initiative.
  • Communicate well with fellow colleagues and provide effective customer service when offering expertise and advice.
  • Maintain efficient communication with Office Staff and advise on diagnostics, expected repair times and general advice that would be beneficial to the customer.
  • Accurate and Efficient recording of job sheets for servicing and repairs
  • Ability to listen to and accurately record customer complaints about vehicle symptoms and help troubleshoot the fault/problem accordingly.
  • Maintain a Clean and Safe working environment, in keeping with Health and Safety Regulations

Hours

  • to 5pm Monday to Friday, preferably but not essential Saturday 9am to 12pm on a rota basis
