Senior Technician

The Trade Centre UK is the fastest growing brand in the automotive sector, We have recently expanded our Preparation Facility in the Midlands and are looking for Senior/Master Technicians to join our growing team. Every week thousands of happy customers purchase cars that are prepared within our Workshop facility.

The role of Senior/ Master Technician (Mechanic) is to assist teams of mechanics to identify, diagnose and repair any faults found on vehicles whilst taking them through our pre-delivery inspection.

We are looking for experience and expertise/knowledge that can be utilised with fault finding on vehicles, we also want the knowledge and expertise to be passed on to members of the team and on to the young adults going through their apprenticeships with us at the facility.

Purpose of the role:

• As a Master Technician/ Senior Technician/ Mechanic you will be working independently in a fast-paced environment on a whole range of vehicle brands meaning that no two days are ever the same.
• Assisting a large team of vehicle technicians on a day-to-day basis, carrying out work and overseeing other technicians - ensuring tasks are completed in a timely manner, to our high standards
• Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults and deciding how to put them right. Decision making will be a huge part of your role.
• Serve as a mentor to members of the team and apprentices

Skills we are looking for:

• Minimum 3 years’ current experience in a senior/master technician position (Mechanic)
• Experience of advanced diagnostic principles to establish mechanical and electronic faults, specifically with AUTEL, Bosch KTS AND Launch diagnostic equipment.
• Good understanding/experience of repairing core vehicle systems including engine transmission, electrical systems, braking, steering, suspension, fuel injection & emissions.
• Logical problem-solving skills are necessary for the role
• The ability to interact with Managers and Technicians effectively; especially when explaining complex faults.
• Act on your own initiative and take responsibility for the quality of your own work.

• Be available to assist with developing colleagues, bringing your experience and skillset to our teams and passing on valuable information for others to develop
• The willingness to constantly learn and be able to improve your own performance and that of the business
